Texas Seafood Didn’t Forget Homeless on This Christmas
Claudette Thomas, 47, Sebastian Luna, 9 and his siblings came to volunteer at the Texas Seafood Restaurant, where free meals were served to the homeless from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
“I wanted to tell them this year is not all about receiving, so I brought the older kids with me so they could understand,” said Thomas, a volunteer with God’s Church of Restoration.
Binh Pham, owner of Texas Seafood, said the restaurant served between 200 and 300 meals with the help of volunteers and donors.
“The most important thing that a lot of people don’t really think about is building a special day for the homeless people,” Pham said. “I’ve been blessed for many years, and I feel like I should do something for the community, just for the corner of Victoria. It’s not the whole world I can make happy, but just one little corner is good enough for me,” said Pham.
